-
- : Bill signed a document freeing the military from having to disclose a chemical
- : inventory of Area 51 chemicals. Maybe they didn't phrase it "Area 51"- I know
- : that there has been a lot of resistance to the government calling it anything,
- : but this is definitely the location they are referring to.
-
- And so another folk legend arises...
-
- There has been some debate about the military's unwillingness to
- disclose *all* the chemicals that may be in some defense installations,
- specifically in places like Hartford, where nuclear materials
- were refined and fabricated, and in the air force test range where
- secret aircraft are tested and where conspiricy buffs gather at`
- the fence to take pictures and fabricate theories.
-
- : BTW, in case you don't know what I'm talking about, the document Clinton signed
- : was directed toward keeping lawyers suing the government in the cause of a
- : bunch of Area 51 former employees. These former employees are developing
- : strange medical conditions, including unusual cancers.
-
- Hello?
-
- The first part is correct. The second is a stretch. Contractors are wary of
- exposing their employees to carcinogens and other toxic materials
- without knowing what they are, and in fact they are required by law to post
- material safety data sheets (MSDSs) by law- the penalties for fialing
- to due so are huge. But if the DoD won't reveal all the compound on
- site, the conmtractors can't meet OSHA regs. What the contractors want
- is for the Executive branch to indeminify them against claims
- arising from exposure to undisclosed materials, and to wave the OSHA
- MSDS requirements.
-
- Suddenly this all takes place at "Area 51" and there are "strange
- medical conditions..."
-
- Must be aliens ;-)
